Read Any Good Books Lately?

After watching and ruminating on Digital Nation (a Frontline documentary), I’ve decided to decrease my internet and media usage.  In turn, I need to increase my reading.  Neil Postman’s Amusing Ourselves to Death is another book that is in line with this glut of media options and their implications on our culture.

So here’s what I’ve either read, currently reading, and plan to read:

Finished Reading

Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs (a Puritan classic)

Music Through the Eyes of Faith by Harold Best **highly recommended

Redemption: Accomplished and Applied by John Murray **highly recommended.  It’s a great work on the Atonement and its implications for the Christian life.

Currently Reading

Christ Centered Worship by Bryan Chappell

Desiring God by John Piper (maybe you’ve heard of him and this book :))

“On My Desk” or Plan to Read

Godly Man’s Picture by Thomas Watson (I’ve read some of it on Monergism.  Highly recommend this Puritan classic)
